Pannon Tokaj Winery currently owns 22 hectares of vineyard, that is completely cultivated. Their main grape varieties are Yellow Muscat, Furmint, Hárslevelű, and Zéta are grown in our vineyards which are located in the most famous areas of the wine region ( Kincsem, Rány, Budaházi). The goal is to increase the vineyards up to 40-50 hectares and improve the old ones. They don’t just cultivate their own vines, they also purchase a significant amount of grapes from other local grape growers that have firm business connections with the company for a long time. They also aim to do the highest quality work in the field of growing grapes, using delicate yet very effective pest control, pruning works, and firm control of the crops (1,5kg/vine).
The grapes are collected in the proper state of technical maturity. To avoid the grapes from being damaged, it is carried in plastic crates and processed at the winery upon arrival. After the destemming that is made without crushing, the free-run juice is separated carefully then the mashed grapes are softly pressed. The cooled and settled must go through the process of drawing off is inoculated by selecting the yeasts carefully. The temperature-controlled fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks.
