Tenuta di Sticciano: Uses Modern and Elegant Winemaking Process

The Tenuta di Sticciano is located in Tuscany, in the region of Chianti, which its landscape and soil characteristics are essential to wine quality, which is also the reason why the main Chianti vines such as Sangiovese reach very high-quality levels in the stony soils of the Chianti hills. The manor includes the Renaissance Villa and 3 buildings in rustic Tuscan style and covers about 160 hectares of hills full of vineyards, olive groves, flowering fields, numerous crops, and woods.

Tenuta di Sticciano’s wines reflect the typical wines of their local culture, the development of Fonti’s first line of wines shifted the production to international grape varieties of great finesse, resulting in a more modern and elegant type of vinification, adorned with sophisticated and refined blends. During the winemaking process, they always opt for modern systems which allow them to use very low doses of sulfites. Every ten days they taste each and every wine in the cellar to check their status and evolution. For them, wines are just like humans: they are born, grow, mature, age, and then die; in every period of a wine’s life the best parts are to be protected and respected, and this is what we do on a daily basis.
