Terra Felix in Latin means ‘lucky earth’ or ‘lucky country’, which is how owner Peter Simon’s father described Australia when he migrated from Austria. The company was established in 2001 and now aims to create exceptional, affordable wines from Australia’s premium existing and emerging wine regions.
They are not just distributing in Australia but also in China and other markets. Recently, they have joined America Wines Awards 2019 and 3 of their wines won an award.
Yarra Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 – has won a Gold Medal
Strongly fruit-driven, rich and pure, with flavours of juicy red fruit delivering great definition and concentration. Blackcurrant, subtle red berry fruits and hints of chocolate flow onto the palate with undertones of spice and dried herbs. Fine yet firm tannins frame the plush fruit to give a long and lingering finish.
Heathcote Shiraz 2016 – has won a Gold Medal
Grown in the rich, red soils of Heathcote in Victoria where we enjoy warm, dry days and cool evenings. As a consequence produces the fruit of great flavour, concentration and balance. This wine displays classic dark berries, lifted spice and balanced white pepper. A full-flavoured, fleshy and soft finishing wine with length and balance, assisted by maturation for 18 months in French oak barriques. The oak influence adds structure, while firm tannins give the wine great length.
Yarra Valley Pinot Noir 2018 – has won a Silver Medal
Exotic and mysterious. Wild berries and undergrowth with earthy spices. Intense and bold. Classic Pinot Noir, red and black cherry complimented with brooding earthy undertones. Subtle savoury spice.
Big flavours balanced beautifully with firm tannins. It has an old-growth forest feel about it. Comforting and supportive. Hints of violets and lavender. Rich black cherry spice surrounded by vanillin oak. Lovely middle palate concentration supported by fine velvet-like tannins.
