In the 16th century, Jean d’Alibert, a monk from the Caunes-Minervois region, helped develop the vineyards in the area. Today, they can still see numerous traces of his influence, the most obvious being that his abbey has become a famous restaurant specialising in regional dishes. To pay homage to him, they have developed their own brand under the name Jean d’Alibert. Today, it is one of their key labels.
The Jean d’Alibert Group covers the complete activity from wine production to sales and commercialisation. They brought together 1,200 winegrowers to create the Haut Minervois Winegrowers Union. For more than 20 centuries all of their passion has gone into their 6,500 wine barrels.
CHANTOVENT, on the other hand, was created in 1953. Since 1993, the company is part of the wine growing and producing activities of the Jean d’Alibert Group. Specialising in Languedoc wines, the company’s main strategy is to develop the concept of the “Terroir” with strong brand names under the Protected Geographical Location, Varietal Wine and AOC Minervois labels.
The Celliers Jean d’Alibert was created to bottle the wines directly in their region of production, with Chantovent being responsible for marketing and the commercial side of the business. This collaboration is based on the needs of their consumers who want quality products based on the skills and know-how of winegrowers who are passionate about the richness of their terroir and natural environment and their attachment to their vines.
“ For over 60 years our strategy has been based on perfecting the taste of our wines, maintaining quality, and respecting our heritage and traditions. We want our business to remain rooted in the Mediterranean, friendly, open and tolerant, simple, generous, and always striving to improve the taste of our products. Our wines bring together tradition and innovation, which has helped us become a benchmark in terms of quality, among wine producers in the Languedoc. ”
