Chateau Alverne: One of The Most Popular of Bordeaux’s Wine Regions

The Château Alverne vineyard, (3.6 ha), is divided between the clay-limestone plateau of Saint-Emilion and the southern clay-sandy part on gravels. The average age of the vines is 20 years. The vineyard is composed of three grape varieties: Merlot (85%), Cabernet Franc (12%), and Cabernet Sauvignon (3%).

All of their viticultural work (pruning, etc.) is carried out in a reasoned manner, with the objective of obtaining optimal maturity of the grapes while respecting the terroir and the vintage.

The winery is made up of thermo-regulated concrete vats, is organized to optimize the alcoholic fermentation in order to give expression to the personality of the vineyard and its terroir.

The company has recently joined America Wines Awards 2020 and won a Gold award for their Saint Emilion Grand Cru – 2016.

Saint Emilion is one of the most popular of Bordeaux’s wine regions and the words Grand Cru indicate this wine has passed a special tasting panel. A dry, firm with plummy fruit, typical of Merlot, and a note of oak. Enjoy with grilled and roasted meats.
